Designed for urban and industrial fire suppression, these vehicles feature advanced firefighting apparatus, including high-capacity water pumps (3,000–4,000 liters/minute), integrated foam systems, and extendable ladders reaching up to 30 meters. The procurement aligns with Ethiopia’s Urban Safety Enhancement Program, aiming to address infrastructure gaps exacerbated by rapid urbanization and climate-related risks, such as frequent wildfires and industrial accidents. Funded through a blended financing model involving domestic allocations and international development loans, the $45 million project includes operator training by Japanese technicians, ensuring optimal deployment. The body is made of high-strength composite materials, and the compartment can be quickly disassembled and replaced, which is convenient for later maintenance and function expansion.
