The Sinotruk HOWO series water foam fire rescue trucks have become the trusted choice of many fire departments with their excellent performance and super cost-effectiveness. This fire truck combines advanced technology with practical design and is designed to cope with various emergency rescue missions. The Sinotruk HOWO fire truck is equipped with a high-performance water pump system, which can quickly establish a strong water pressure delivery capacity to ensure that the fire is controlled in a short time. This purchase was directly connected by the Djibouti government and the Chinese company POWERSTAR TRUCKS, reflecting the technical cooperation in the field of "safety emergency equipment".

The 25-ton water tank volume design of the vehicle is particularly suitable for Djibouti's water-scarce environment, reducing the frequency of replenishment.
HOWO series fire trucks are known for their high cost-effectiveness. Their localized chassis and modular design reduce procurement and maintenance costs. Compared with relying on imported equipment from Europe and the United States (such as Rosenbauer), POWERSTAR TRUCKS's solution is more in line with Djibouti's fiscal reality. The government's centralized procurement model can also achieve unified resource allocation and avoid duplicate investment.

The Djibouti government joins hands with China's POWERSTAR TRUCKS to introduce HOWO 25-ton fire water tanker: laying a solid foundation for fire safety in East Africa
1. Cooperation background and Djibouti's national needs
Djibouti is located in the Horn of Africa, guarding the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, and is a key node in global shipping. The country has a dry and hot climate, with an average annual rainfall of less than 150 mm, and the urbanization process is accelerating. The capital Djibouti City is densely populated, with more industrial facilities, and the risk of fire has increased significantly. However, local firefighting equipment has long relied on old imported vehicles, and the rescue capacity is seriously insufficient. This time, the Djibouti government and China's well-known fire truck supplier POWERSTAR TRUCKS purchased HOWO 25-ton fire water tanker (also known as HOWO 8x4 heavy water tank fire truck or CB10/80 pump fire truck) to fill the gap in large-scale fire fighting equipment and enhance the ability to deal with high-risk scenarios such as oil storage tanks and port terminals.
2. Technical analysis of HOWO 25-ton fire water tank truck
This model is built on the chassis of Sinotruk HOWO 8x4 heavy truck, and its core configuration includes:
Power system: 336-horsepower engine, adapted to the high-temperature desert terrain of Djibouti, power redundancy ensures that it can quickly reach the scene when fully loaded with 25 tons of water;
Firefighting module: CB10/80 fire pump (flow rate 80L/s, pressure 1.0MPa), which can support multiple high-pressure water guns at the same time;
Water storage design: 25-ton large-capacity water tank, which meets the long-term firefighting needs in water-scarce areas of Djibouti and reduces the number of water replenishment in the middle;
Derivative models: It can be modified and expanded into a foam-water combined fire truck, airport rescue truck or chemical accident decontamination truck to adapt to various scenarios.

3. Application scenarios and local adaptation
Industrial fire fighting: A large number of petrochemical storage and logistics companies gather in the Deauville Free Trade Zone in Djibouti. The large-flow water supply system of this vehicle can effectively suppress oil fires;
Urban fire fighting: For the narrow streets in the old city, the mobile legs and remote-controlled water cannon equipped with the vehicle can achieve long-distance precision fire fighting and reduce the risk of rescue personnel;
Natural disaster response: In the dry season, the vehicle can be temporarily used as a water supply vehicle to support the community, reflecting the design concept of "one vehicle for multiple uses".
4. Potential for development of derivative models
Based on the high scalability of the HOWO 8x4 chassis, the following variants can be developed in the future to meet the needs of Djibouti:
Desert fire truck: equipped with sand tires and air intake pre-filters to adapt to the dusty environment on the edge of the Sahara;
Port-specific rescue vehicle: integrated with offshore firefighting modules for ship fires or tanker leaks;
Military logistics support vehicle: provide supporting firefighting support for the US military base and French military base in Djibouti, and strengthen international cooperation capabilities.
5. Strategic Significance and Future Prospects
This cooperation is not only about equipment procurement, but also includes technical training and maintenance system construction. POWERSTAR TRUCKS will assist Djibouti in establishing a localized maintenance center and cultivating a professional fire truck operation team. As a benchmark project under the framework of the "Belt and Road Initiative", the commissioning of this fleet will significantly improve the emergency rescue level in East Africa and set an example for China's high-end equipment to go overseas.
