The MAN 12 CBM CAFS fire fighting truck is a professional fire-fighting vehicle that integrates advanced fire extinguishing technology with high-efficiency carrying capacity, specially designed to tackle various complex fire scenarios.
It adopts the high-performance MAN TGS33.510 chassis, equipped with an advanced Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS), and combines powerful water and foam tank capacities, making it suitable for rapid and effective rescue operations for type A (solid materials) and type B (liquid materials) fires.
Chassis and Powertrain
• Chassis Model: MAN TGS33.510,renowned for its excellent durability, stability, and off-road capabilities, suitable for rapid deployment in various complex terrains.
• Engine: MAN D2676LFAR 510HP, a high-performance inline six-cylinder diesel engine that provides up to 510 horsepower (377 kW) of power output, ensuring the vehicle can respond quickly in any emergency while maintaining efficient fuel economy.
• Transmission: ZF 16-speed automatic transmission, offering a smooth shifting experience and a wide range of gear ratios, allowing drivers to flexibly adjust vehicle speed and torque according to road conditions and rescue needs, optimizing driving performance and fuel efficiency.
Fire-fighting Equipment
• Water Tank Capacity: 9000L, with a large-capacity design ensuring continuous water supply capability during prolonged or large-scale fire extinguishing operations.
• Class A Foam Tank: 1000L, specifically designed for extinguishing solid material fires (such as wood, paper, etc.), with foam effectively cutting off oxygen and accelerating fire control.
• Class B Foam Tank: 2000L, providing a specialized solution for liquid fires (such as gasoline, oil, etc.), with efficient foam coverage reducing liquid evaporation and quickly suppressing fire spread.
CAFS System
• Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS): This system generates lightweight, wide-coverage, and highly permeable foam by mixing high-pressure air with water and foam concentrate, greatly improving fire extinguishing efficiency and water-saving performance. It is suitable for different types of fire scenes, particularly excelling in scenarios with limited water sources or where rapid cooling and fire source isolation are required.
Introduction to Compressed Air Foam Fire Extinguishing Technology
Compressed Air Foam Fire Extinguishing Technology (CAFS) refers to a technique in which compressed air and foam solution are premixed in specific proportions within pipelines or hoses, then discharged through a spraying device to generate compressed air foam for fire suppression. Compared to water-based fire extinguishing technologies, CAFS transforms a single drop of water into multiple bubbles, with each bubble’s fire-suppression efficacy equivalent to that of a single drop of water. The water film on the foam increases the surface area of the liquid water, enabling more complete vaporization, greater heat absorption capacity, and significant reduction of combustion temperatures in the fire zone. Additionally, compressed air foam markedly reduces surface tension between water molecules, granting it strong permeability to penetrate into the interior of burning materials, thereby drastically shortening fire extinguishing time.
Compared to conventional foam fire extinguishing technologies, the foam expansion ratio of CAFS is approximately 10 times that of ordinary foam. During firefighting, foam with an expansion ratio below 4 struggles to remain on fuel surfaces for extended periods, while foam with a ratio above 10 struggles to penetrate flames and reach fuel surfaces. CAFS allows precise adjustment of the flow rates of compressed air and foam solution to control the foam expansion ratio between 4 and 10, thereby enhancing the foam’s fire-suppression capability.
