The Isuzu 6x4 12,000-liter foam water fire truck is a specialized firefighting equipment modified based on the Isuzu heavy-duty truck chassis. It is suitable for extinguishing Class A (solid) and Class B (liquid) fires, as well as emergency rescue operations in complex environments. Its "6x4" drive configuration (three axles, dual rear-wheel drive) provides strong off-road capability and load-bearing performance. The total capacity of the water tank and foam tank is 12,000 liters (10,000 liters for water + 2,000 liters for foam), meeting the demands of prolonged firefighting operations.

Working Principle of the Isuzu 6x4 12,000-liter Foam-Water Fire Truck
The foam fire truck operates by transferring power from the vehicle chassis engine through a power take-off (PTO) device, which drives the fire pump via a transmission system. The fire pump and foam proportioning system mix water and foam in a specific ratio, which is then ejected through the fire cannon or foam nozzles to extinguish fires. Below is the detailed firefighting process:
★ Mixing Foam Solution:
Upon arrival at the fire scene, the fire pump starts operating. The pump draws water from the water tank, while the foam proportioning system mixes water and foam concentrate in a specific ratio (typically 6%).
The foam concentrate is drawn into the water flow through the foam proportioning system, forming a uniform foam solution.
★ Ejecting Foam Solution:
The mixed foam solution is delivered to the fire cannon (PL8/48 fire cannon) or fire hoses.
Firefighters operate the fire cannon, adjusting the ejection angle and mode to spray the foam solution onto the fire source.
★ Foam Coverage and Smothering Effect:
Upon contact with the burning surface, the foam solution rapidly expands and forms a continuous foam layer.
For liquid fires such as oil fires, this foam layer effectively isolates the burning material from the surrounding air. Since combustion requires oxygen, the foam layer cuts off the air supply, causing the fire to gradually extinguish due to lack of oxygen.
★ Cooling Effect:
The foam solution contains a significant amount of water. When the foam covers the burning material, the water in the foam absorbs the heat generated by the fire.
According to the principles of heat transfer, heat is transferred from the high-temperature burning material to the low-temperature water. The water absorbs heat and evaporates, a process that consumes a large amount of heat (due to water's high heat of vaporization). In this way, the temperature of the burning material continuously decreases, and when it falls below the ignition point, the fire is extinguished.
